Coming full circle
It seems that my inspiration tank is running low. I'm suspecting that someone is siphoning from my supply while I'm sleeping. Either that, or it's February, which is usually a bit of a flimsy, banal month for me.
I've been searching all week for something happy to photograph but simply could not find the beauty in crusty, dirt-peppered snow or endless gray skies. Thank goodness for the full moon, making her appearance among the trees behind my house the other night. The Snow Moon is the name for February's full moon, and she was a beauty. Could you see her from where you were too?
~
March is waiting in the wings. She's nervously tugging on her rain boots, amassing a variety of winds (I hope her entourage includes a few warm breezes) and finalizing her agenda — hmmm, a little snow, some gusts, a sunny day, then a drizzle or two, some balmy wind, a warm spell, a sneaky overnight snowfall, followed by one delightfully warmer day (suited for putting car windows down).
I've become suddenly aware of the seasons of this blog and as I enter into March I will be coming into a full year of blogging. What a great year it's been! More on that later.
For now, wishing you good things.

Congratulations on the coming anniversary! I very much enjoy your blog. I was impressed with the moon this week too, but didn't think to take any pictures. Thank you for sharing yours.
ReplyDeleteI bet it was beautiful there with that big mountain as a backdrop.
DeleteWonderful photos Jenny! We were commenting last night on how bright it was -- it was overcast here, and snowing, but still bright. We're anxiously awaiting March too... :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracy. Yes, March can't come fast enough for me. Still snowing here too, although only an inch or so at a time now.
DeleteLovely pictures Jenny. March always seems to be a mixed bag of weather. When I was little I looked forward to March because it meant a new kite and plenty of windy days for flying. :) Does anyone still fly a kite? Congratulations on your anniversary! I enjoy popping over to read your posts. I think your writing is awesome! I'm hoping that March refuels your inspiration tank! :) Take care and have a great Wednesday. penny x
ReplyDeleteYou never see kites much anymore do you? I'm sure there's some sort of game/app for kids to fly virtual kites on their iPods. Definitely not the same experience.
DeleteHate to say it, but I totally missed that moon. Yours is lovely though. I simply can't wait for March. As my daughter said last winter, "February is winter's August. It just goes on forever!"
ReplyDeleteMe thinks your daughter is a poet. Love it.
DeleteYou did a great job of capturing the full moon.
ReplyDeleteOh how I dislike February. It may be the shortest month but it feels like the longest. The winter just seems to drag on with a little teaser of spring, before plunging us back into the chill.
Yes, I found the snow moon last night and even took photos...not as fine as yours. Good thing that this is a short month. We're all starved for something...warmth, sunshine, color, something!
ReplyDeleteTo answer your hidden question of how my feet can be my favorite part...ha...I used the bloom feature on Photoscape and I am not thin.
Beautiful moody photos. I love the full moon too.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, February always seems long even though it's the shortest month. I think we just grow impatient.
Your blog has been such a gift to me over the past year!
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous photos! Love your blog and glad you started a year ago!
ReplyDeleteYes, blogging does make one very aware of the seasons, you are right.
ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone likes February and I am looking forward to warm breezes as much as the next person. Spring, come soon.

ReplyDeleteI hate that when you can't seem to find a good photograph anywhere around! But I agree that the moon this month has been beautiful.
Congratulations on a year. Have you read back yet? I am four years in and it's amazing to look back on the journey.
ReplyDeleteI too have been in the February slump and now March is definitely blowing in like a lion (worst chill ever). Really waiting for those first buds and bits of green to photgraph.
What gorgeous pictures. I did not know that it was called the snow moon. Thanks for the new info!
ReplyDeleteWow I can never get such great photos of the moon. Here in Texas we have the "refinery moon" which is really something to see.
