Live a Quiet Life

I started the day with a huge list of things to do, but somehow I got distracted and found myself, um . . . surfing the web. Guilt.

But then I came across this poster and I was so smitten with it that I felt vindicated and proud of myself for clicking the appropriate links and somehow discovering it.

And then I thought of you, all my blog peeps. I thought they're gonna like this too. We're kind of a quiet life folk, aren't we? Always puttering around, making and doing or at the very least thinking about making and doing.

You can have your own 24" x 32" version of this poster by ordering it from this site. Through the end of 2012, all of the proceeds from the sale of this poster will go to Many Hopes, an organization committed to loving and educating children who have endured the worst of poverty and exploitation in Kenya. For more information, Visit the Many Hopes website.  Kinda cool, huh? (You can get it in black, blue, or green too). I think I'm going to ask for one for Christmas!

Speaking of "being quiet" I read a really interesting article on introverts yesterday. I want to tell you all about it but the sands are quickly funneling through my hourglass today so I will have to do it tomorrow.

Hope everyone is staying warm, and dry (it's SNAINING here - nasty combo of snow and rain, ick). See you tomorrow!

  1. LOVE the poster and what a great cause! I have never heard of 'snaining' before... that is a good one! No snain here. Coldish - the perfect temp for staying in to do some crocheting! :)

    1. I've been crocheting a ton! Snaining is my own creation. I just thought of it and I think I'm going to use it a lot now cuz I like the way it sounds :) Our temps must be hovering right around freezing and fluxuating by the minute because it'll be raining one time I look outside and then snowing the next!

  2. Send the snain our way.
We don't know any better, and we'll
act giddy and mad for the sheer thrill of it.

  3. For the first time in all of my 1 year of pinning...I made a board called "Stuff I want" and pinned this poster. I love what it says, what it implies and that it goes for a good cause! Will visit the site with my morning coffe for more info! Snaining...!!! ...I love it!!!

  4. This is a neat poster and it reminded me of what Paul wrote to the early Believers ..."God Himself has taught you to love one another...even so...we urge you to love them even more. Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands...."

    1. I love that quote from Paul, and we do all need to be reminded to mind our own business from time to time. Thanks for sharing it.

  5. Nen,

Have you watched the shaker documentary on Netflix? It is very good and it make me think of that quote.
